Fun with filing

Well, fun with the filing cabinet at least. I saw this cool idea on Pinterest (yes, full blown addict right here) and couldn't wait to replicate it, it was just what we needed.

So on his way home one day, I got Kyle to stop off in Rancho Cordova (a suburb of Sacramento) to pick up a file cabinet that I had found on Craigslist. I had perused a few at salvage places but they were all going to $60+ and weren't in great shape. There are tons on Craigslist and I got this one for $30.

Once home I pulled out the drawers, of which Kyle has re-used two in the shop and the other two will be recycled. We reinforced the bottom with plywood and placed plywood on the end which was the open bottom. Added 4 wheels and gave it a coat of paint.

And voila, there you have it. Of course mine does not have racing stripes, thinking how to jazz up the front but I also put hooks on the side for a dust pan and brush. It is fantastic, so handy to move, easy to see all the tools and get them in an out. Sure beats the 50 gallon drum we had them all stored in before.

Okay, back to the house!!
